Help! Material library Not Loading

Hey guys. I am running into an issue on Revit 2016 (the only year my company uses unfortunately) where I am trying to load a material library. I am clicking on the materials icon on the manage tab, then going to the bottom left to click on that little folder with the wrench on it. Then creating new material library. I find my material library in the file explorer and select it and hit continue. Every time, no matter what I rename it, it tells me that this material library already exists and that I need to rename it to something different. I don't know what is going wrong or how to fix this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Click the "libraries/panel" button to open the libraries menu. Probably you will find your library already there.

It isn't. That's the issue. It it is telling me that I have something loaded that I don't actually have loaded. Even when I change the name of the material file, it is still giving me the same issue.

Not sure what is happening here. Try to do some troubleshooting.

-Restart Revit and Windows and see what happens.

-Move the library to a different local folder (e.g C:\Temp) and see what happens then.

-Try to load the library on a different computer and see what happens.

I ended up hitting the "open existing library" button and selecting the MUU file that I had and it loaded just fine. I'm not sure why it is considered an existing library because I've never loaded it before but it works! Thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate you 🙂
