Help deciphering what this error report means - Revit 2023/2024 crash after some time of leaving project open and unused

Every once a while when I do nothing in a Revit project (i.e. step away from the desk for a while project is open), Revit crashes and shows the below error. i attached the report (I wasn't able to attach the dmp file).

This started happening a few weeks ago and only seems to happen when I leave an open Revit project alone for a while. So far no crash when actively using Revit. It originally was in Revit 2023 (but back then I thought it is a fluke, and didn't look too deep into it). Since it started, I had freshly re-installed Revit 2023, and also Revit 2024.

Could someone look into my files and point me to what to look for or what other information to provide?

Hi @HVAC-Novice,

The first log entry of the exceptions gives following message:

"ExceptionCode=0xe0434352 ExceptionFlags=0x00000001 ExceptionAddress=00007FF852AECB69"

A Search for the Code "0xe0434352" gives below link.

An unrecoverable error has occurred…

Could be a Addin?, try to disable all addins and see if it still happens.

Also make sure all updates of Revit / Windows are installed and system has rebooted once after them.

Thanks for looking into this. All is up to date.

The only add-in I have is ElumTool, which I need for my work. Since my crash only happens every once a while, I can't really de-install that plugin (since I physically couldn't work on my lighting projects).

I also think it is unlikely a problem with that add-in. For 2023, I use the most recent add-in and that should be mature after a year on the market. And for 2024 it is an all new 2024 version of that add-in. Obviously, there could be an issue on their side and i will alert their support to see if they can look into their ad-in.

Until then, I just have to keep using it and hope it doesn't crash while working. the crash after being away from my desk is inconvenient, but not a deal breaker right now. Obviously i don't want problems lingering around.

OMG, I figured it out. the problem also is related to my other thread .

it was our specific remote-software.
