Having Trouble with Revit Families

Ok, so I have a revit family loaded in for a refrigeration case from hussmann. I usually go into these families and from the project browser: Floor Plans > Ref. Level.

From the Ref. Level I pick out lines I don't want to see, and: right click > visibility > uncheck Plan/RCP. Once I have gotten rid of all the lines I don't want, I will then draw symbolic lines that I do want to see. The I save and replace the family, and go back to my sheet view.

The only issue is that all the lines are still showing up on my sheet. and when I go back in to edit the family, the Plan/RCP box is checked again. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Can you share the family?

I am also having an issue with adding an ID tag to show up on a sheet view. I want the tag to display the model "ID6SU"
The family should be attached to this comment.

I can't replicate your issue at my end, which I understand to be: that you cannot turn off the visibility of some of the elements in Plan/RCP.

Regarding your second issue: the tag would need to pull the value of the "Model" parameter in the Family -- which is the one that is "ID6SU".

I'm not sure what was causing it, but I was able to fix it by deleting the family from the project. After that I made all of the changes that I needed in the family before loading it into the project. After that it seemed to work. Also, thanks for help with the Tag. I'm new to Revit so a lot of it doesn't come to me that easily.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it.

This tag pulls the value of the "Model" parameter in Specialty Equipment.
