Hatch patterns text file - able to consolidate?

Will Revit read multiple custom fill patterns from the same .pat file (similar to how it reads multiple Shared Parameters from the same text file), or do I need to create a separate .pat file for each custom fill pattern?

Yes. if you have one .pat file with multiple patterns in it, you can use it to add patterns in reivt.

  • Manage > Additional Settings > Fill Patterns
  • pick New Fill Pattern
  • Custom
  • use the brows button to find the .pat file
  • pick the pattern you want from the list.

tht said, the .pat file needs to be set up properly. you CAN NOT use the autocad .pat file with revit without modifications. drafting patterns need to be identified as Drafting and model patterns need to be identified as Model.

attached is a sample .PAT

Hmm. I must have forgotten a required character in the text file. Now it's loading the multiple patterns as I thought it is supposed to do. Thanks for your response.
