Hi everyone,
I try to figure out howto create a wide plank interior hardwood flooring (6'' and 7'' options) that would render well.
I used Revit's hardwood material for architectural floor structure, but it comes out as narrow parquet type of floor, and does not render well (see attached).
I would appreciate if you can help me figure out how I can control the size of the hardwood planks, and assign materials that render well.
Thanks in advance,
Maria
Sounds like you need a different rendering appearance image. You might be able to make the OOTB parquet work by simply changing the image's scaling.
Thanks for a tip!
Scaling helps with appearance -- the planks are wider, but 1). I still cannot control exactly their width (compare 4'' vs 7'' for example), and 2). rendering is not great, since I stretch a jpg so much.
Use can assign a different jpeg or png for the image. Perhaps, you can find a decent one online to use.
It’s still guessing game as for the size..
Also, is there a good refit library for this online? If I just google hardwood flooring, the edges of the images are not meant for Revit, and end up looking like a tile.
But again, it makes it better that it is, so thanks!
Math.
Example below: the texture image has 11 rows, if you want 7" each then change the sample size to 77".
