I've created a fascia and a gutter profile family, when I load it into a project and try to place it on the face of the roof, it never seems to have the right orientation or go to the right position, I have to manually grab it and adjust it to the right orientation and position. The standard fascia and gutter family that comes with revit never has this issue, once you select the face the of the roof they always seem to go the right position, I don't why the family created profiles never automatically go to the right position. I'm I doing something wrong?
Maybe the profile is drawn wrong? Do Offsets and Angle work on it after placement?
Yes they all work, the profile itself is fine, its just when you try to place on the face of a roof, its always either flipped the wrong way, sometimes its upside down and sometimes its offset into the roof I have to drag and move it about in order to get it to the right position. I just don't know why the standard out of the box revit gutters and fascias automatically go to the correct place when you try to place them but created family profiles don't.
Didnt work, its now says could not create when I try to place it, I'll just leave it as it is, because the profile family it self is fine.
Post your profile and I'll give it a try.
BTW: what view are you in when placing the fascia?
Upload it to a cloud and share the link. This forum thinks Revit files are suspiciously harmful so it protects users by not letting them attach.
I think the forum AI algorithm thinks RFA stands for Really F---ing Awkward or something.

I hope you're kidding, @ToanDN. I won't be posting anymore files if this is SOP now. I won't even bother making Screencasts because of the upload time involved. By the time it finishes uploading, "the moment is gone" ***.
