here is the scenario
3 buildings (1) Model each building has its own levels set up, each building has its own workset for sorting
residential (7 floors) 15 unit types set up as groups per building designation
(BLDG 1 UNIT A1) on workset BLDG 1, BLDG 1 LEVEL 1, all components within the group are assigned to
BLDG 1 LEVEL 1.
when copying to another level everything works well until that group is copied into another workset (BLDG 2) and another Buildings Levels (BLDG 2 LEVEL 2) all components within the group need to be adjusted to suit the different BLDG assignment (WORKSET and BLDG Parameter can be easily adjusted to fit) Furniture , walls Mech Eqmt doors all need to be removed from the group reassigned and then added back into the group
new Group = BLDG 2 UNIT A1
there is a need to separate these BLDGs and Levels and all components within the model (phasing)
the initial model set up was not considered to be phased so this is a retro set up issue.
my question is this
how can we leverage using groups and multiple Buildings and Levels without all of this disruptive work flow?
will scope boxes help by assigning levels and grids to each scope box?
any help is greatly appreciated.
