Grouping wall type in schedule

Hi everyone,

There  is probably a very easy solution that i am just not seeing..

I am trying make a schedule that shows just the total area of walls per wall type.

I attached an image in which you can see Revit showing the same wall types multiple times..

I need to create a schedule to easily see for the whole facade what the area is for insulation, brick outer wall and inner wall..

Under Sorting/Grouping did you uncheck Itemize every instance?

Sort by type only.

That solves part of the problem.

Now i see a total sum of the walls like i wanted.

But i need to sort it by Mark aswell

I gave all walls a mark based on the orientation(facing north south east west) and i need to calculate per facade, so per orientation what the area per wall type is..

So for some reason,

After sorting by type only it did combine all similar types in one row but wouldnt allow me to filter the type by mark.

I added a filter by mark afterwards and now it works..

If someone wants to explain why this works like this please do.

I will accept both of you as solution.

Thanks for the help!

Adding Sort by Type with Not itemize instances will separate different types to different rows: Type 1, Type 2, etc.... Adding Sort by Mark will further divide each Type to different rows: Type 1 - Mark 1, Type 1 - Mark 2, Ty[e 2 - Mark 1, Type 2 - Mark 2. etc...
