Hi everyone,
how would you model a group of houses with different outside colour? Is there any way to make the houses using one group that you copy, but then are still able to change the colour by instance? Paint doesn't work obviously. Tried adding an instant parameter to walls that can vary inside groups (material) but had no luck, the new colour didn't show.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

You can override the colour and pattern, but I don't think you can override the material.
We're going to need more information about your workflow to be able to advise you properly. But, sure you can model a bunch of houses with different outside colors.
Hi @kostman,
I had a similar project once und just used to override the colours/materials.
You have to click every surface once, so it can be a bit tedious. But since you assign a material you can change it later pretty easily.
Sorry, it's in german but it's under modify - geometry.

Yes, this is the best way to do it so far. Just requires a lot of clicking in various views but it works. Main thing is I'm able to have the houses made of one group that I copy. Thank you for your input! ![]()

Then I loose the benefits of all the houses being one and the same group. But thank you for input.
