Gross/Rentable Square Footage, Area Tags, Load Factors

I am trying to create an Area Tag that will ultimately show the Gross Square Footage of a space as calculated per the occupant load of an entire building.  Typically I usually will create a separate Excel Sheet, manually enter (or export schedule then enter) Areas per Area Plan Results and calculate the Load Factor myself, then manually add them back to the drawing as text - it's a long process for a large building and is error prone.

So a few questions specifically-

1)  Can I add a parameter or a column in a schedule as lets say 12% - and have Revit Calc both the Area + Percentage?  Either as a combined parameter or a calculated parameter > If so How to you enter this in the schedule and get this to work?

2)  If Not is there a way to do this in the tag itself?  Is there a way to enter a percentage in the tag to change the area using RSF+Percentage?

3) It would seem like using Rentable Area Plans would be able to Auto Calc a Gross SF Per BOMA (or simple method) knowing that the Common Area Parameter would be ultimately used to Calc the gross based on the other uses (Office Area, Etc).

If anyone has any experience with this or a pointer to a link online somewhere please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Jacques

Yes, I believe it is possible!

You have to create other parameters, occurencies for formulas, which are different than the original "Area" one.

Beware of the units you use/input when creating those parameters! (it's like maths, cant mix those!)

If i remember well, the unit of "Pourcentage" needs to be an Number, or Integer. Number is more flexible since you can go with decimals.

Then you can create the final one, with the formula including both "Area" and "Pourcentage".

Like in my pic, it needs to be a calculated parameter . (small fx)

It would look like something like that in our case : [Formula : Area * Pourcentage].

Hope it answers your question!

...and you can include Calculated Parameters in the Tag as well.

Yes. Add a calculated parameter and use the formula = Area * 1.12

If the % varies from area to area then add a Number parameter (name it [percent]) and enter 0.12 for added 12% and so on, and use the formula = Area (1+percent)

2)  If Not is there a way to do this in the tag itself?  Is there a way to enter a percentage in the tag to change the area using RSF+Percentage?

Is it a moot point since 1) can be done?

Is there a question?
