Grids extents resetting when turning off rotated scope box

I've come across a strange behavior during model setup which I can't find any other mention of after much searching, so I am posting it here to hopefully help others in future.

If you are using rotated scope boxes due to the building/project being on an angle, you can't adjust the grids and propagate extents. Turning of the scope box (to be able to propagate extents) resets the grids to 3D, and if you turn the scope box back on they will be at the default offset from the crop (1" x Scale).

This occurs when Project North hasn't been set in the control model, and can be seen when the building is on an angle in a view whose Orientation is set to Project North.

The solution to this is to set Project North within your own model at model setup stage.

It's important to set Project North before any modelling or detailing occurs, as it rotates most (but not all) elements within the model, which can cause errors as well as annotations going astray.

This won't affect the alignment with other models on the project, as "True north is the positive y-direction of the shared coordinate system". Source

If anyone has a better solution, please share!
