Graphic glitches NVIDIA GEFORCE GTC 1080 tI QUESTION

Similiar to a previous post - using the above mentioned graphic card and using Revit 2018. I am experiencing trails when I move the dockable windows - like the properties window. The trails stay on the screen and will only "wipe" off when I move the mouse or another program over them. In addition when I am rotating around the point clouds it is not as snappy as I would have expected given the fact I have just bought an all dancing all singing desktop. I am wondering if there are any settings in revit I need or updates to install?

Hi @jkirk

I see that you are a new member! Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • As the first step, I would suggest checking the Desktop App to see if there are any Revit updates available. For information on using the Desktop App see the following article: About the Autodesk Desktop App
  • Note: If you are not able to download updates through the Desktop App, the following article has information on downloading updates through the Autodesk Accounts page: Install Updates, Add-ons, and Enhancements
  • Also, are you using multiple monitors?
  • Make sure, that your graphics card driver is up to date - I suggest my customers not to use the Windows features to automatically detect available graphics card drivers but to go directly to the site of the manufacturer of your graphics card and search for the latest available driver for your card. Install the latest driver and retest the behavior.
  • Try adding OptimizedViewNavigation=0 to the Revit.ini. See Graphics Settings in Revit.ini

Let me know if any of the above helps.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question. Kudos welcome!

No progress. I have the latest graphics card driver for the gtx 1080. Its
all brand new. All my updates for CAD and Revit are in place. Yes I am
using two monitors but the problem happens even if I am only using one.
In addition to the weird tracing issue I noted from the dockable revit
windows I have also observed a weird regeneration of CAD hatches when I
change the scale. They fritz out for a second into a solid hatch before
rescaling correctly.
I am assuming that Autodesk has just not had time to and Nvidia have not
had time to iron out the wrinkles for this graphic card and hoping they do
so. I have no desire to pay the Quaddro prices.

Hi @jkirk

I'm sorry to hear that!

Please try the below steps and see if it helps:

1.setting your window's scaling option down to 150% or less

2.Turning OFF hardware acceleration graphics option

3. Updating Nvidia driver to the latest version

4. Check if your graphics card is certified HERE

Please see the latest updates from Nvidia at the link below:

Can you send us your journal to test further?

Looking forward to your reply update.
