Glass showing as black in Realistic View Setting

Hi all,

We're seeing that glass is showing black in the Realistic views setting. Anyone figured out what causes this and how to fix?

I've tried swapping out the appearance asset in the material browser and oddly only some of the windows change to the required transparent light blue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

@craig_SW

Without inspecting the model it is a guessing game

  1. What kind of windows? Window Family or Curtain wall panels?
  2. Are they all the same of different families/curtain wall panels?
  3. Any Filters? Overrides?
  4. Are all types/instances assigned material OR are some relying of Default material assigned in Object styles?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

To answer your questions:

  • What kind of windows? Window Family or Curtain wall panels?

Window Families

  • Are they all the same of different families/curtain wall panels?

There are different Window Families with the same material for the glass element

  • Any Filters? Overrides?

None

  • Are all types/instances assigned material OR are some relying of Default material assigned in Object styles?

All have the same glass material

Did you use mirror cool tint as your glass material? This would display black with realistic

If you swap it with blue glazing, it shows up as glass.

Does your Glass Material have a Reflectivity Appearance Asset?  If so, uncheck "Reflectivity" and see if that corrects.
