Hi! I'm trying to make the glass in a railing transparent on elevation (Fine, Hidden Line). The glass panels have the material set to Glass and they are made as Railings (Rail structure non-continuous).
If I overwrite the graphics, everything becomes transparent.
In the 3D view, the glass panels are transparent.
Is there a solution to this, or should I simply make it as a curtain wall instead?
Glass Material isn't Transparent in 2D Elevation Views. What about a 3D Elevation View instead?
...your curtain wall approach with transparency override applied is valid approach too.
Then model the Railing with Curtain Walls if you have the option to redo them.

this method would make the entire railing transparent but I think for architectural purposes this may be good enough. can justify stylizing like that with the intent to show what's behind it.
One workaround is to have two railings, one with structure only, the other with glass only. Then do a filter in your views to apply to railing types with "Glass only" in the name, and set to partial transparency.
your Glass railing has a dedicated material Type I presume, Then you can create a filter for that via it's Type Name and apply that filter to your section. In your section view, you can adjust the transparency
If it was a panel family you could apply a subcategory, but we're using a continuous glass "rail", and that is not able to be filtered.
