Give transparency to a extrusion inside the family

I'd like to set a transparency level on the glass of the windows families. I only was able to select and apply the transparency on the curtain wall panel. When i go inside the family to select the glass (because this is the only way i can select it individually) there is no option to override by element.

I know that a workaround would be to model the windows frames and the glass separately. Another would be to hide the glass on the front/back views, however, i want the apearence of the glass just like how i did on the courtain wall.

The views are set to hidden lines and they need to be this way.

select the glass in the family and assign a Glass/Glazing Material to it.

you can also select the box on the right side of the material parameter. this will allow you to create a type parameter so it can be set after the family is placed in a model.

Select the "Opening Cut" element in the Window Family, and check the boxes on the Options Bar for "Transparent in 3D/Elevation".

Also, Windows are not truly transparent, as in "see-through", in Elevation Views. The only way to achieve a this affect is to hide the window glass geometry in the View.  This is done by placing the glazing geometry on the Object Style Subcategory named "Glass" in the Family, and then in the Project Elevation View, turning this "Glass" Subcategory off in View Visibility and Graphics Overrides.
