Width of what? You normally create the parameter in your shared parameter txt file and load it in your families.

the in-built Width is already present in certain family templates. If you are adding a Width parameter from your own Shared Parameter text file, I would strongly suggest naming not naming it "Width" -- otherwise, you'll get 2 Widths showing up as available parameters fields in schedules.

The problem is when I am creating a new parameter in this case, a shared parameter, we can sellect the attribute that we want to add, in regards to to disciplne in which we want, like structural, mep etc... I cannot find teh width parameter anywhere...

best regards

There is no such thing to find. You have to add the parameter to the txt file in order to use it.

I think you're asking how to add the in-built "Width" Parameter to a family. Open a family template that has that in-built parameter built into it, such as a Window or Door. Otherwise, create your own Width Shared Parameter.

If you start with a 'generic' family instead of one of the predefined templates for families there is no parameters to begin width. Then when you create your desired shared parameters they are the only ones that exist. You can then change the Category before saving and inserting into your model. you can also save your own family templates so that you don't have to start with the 'generic' family (whether model or detail) for similar items.
