Hi @mairh_tsek
You can import a CATIA file in Inventor. More information HERE
If you are unable to resolve your issue - please send us your file to troubleshoot, I can share a private folder if you'd like.
Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post answers your question and to help others seeking similar solutions. Kudos welcome!
Thanks

Hello @Viveka_CD,
Thank you for your answer! The coordinates that I will have in Catia, will be the same in Revit? I want to know if my building will be placed correctly in Revit or if I need to configure some things like the Project base point, survey point etc?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Maria
Hi @mairh_tsek
The workflow and commands are different in both the software, so I doubt that we may get the exact coordinates, but we can try.
However if you can share a file, we can test it with inventor or try the alternate workflow. As mentioned before , I can send you a private link to upload.
You can try to contact Catia support and see if they have IFC extensions which can help with the model to be aligned with the project base point/ survey base point.

Hi,
I reallise this post if one year old but...
I've been struggling with this for very long. Catia V6 (3d Experience) is capable of exporting IFC (it can export IFC 2x3, 4 or 4x1). It writes the goelocation in IFCSITE but Revit does not read it properly or any of the Autodesk product. I can open this file in Solibri (free IFC viewer) with no issue and can read the geolocation.
For now my process is to read the geolocation in Catia V6. Catia V6, like Revit shifts the geolocation. All the elements are close to the origin (0,0,0) of the file but a parameter is saying that this 0,0,0 = XX longitude, XX Latitude, XX Azimut, ZZ elevation.
From Catia V6 I export in a neutral format (IGES, STEP). This neutral format does not contain any geolocation (exported from the origin of the file). I reimport this in civil 3D 2018 and move it at the geolocation I was reading in Catia. From there I can save a dwg or export it in IFC that can be imported in Revit !!!
I have attached some IFC coming from Catia V6?
