Hi,
I have a generic model with the "cut with void when loaded" option ticked, but when I have loaded it into the family, I am unable to cut the wall with it. See below image... where the two wall families come together, I would like to cut a notch of both walls. I can cut the wall on the right, but not the wall on the left.
But why? what am I doing wrong here?
Cut with Void when loaded is intended for use when family is loaded into the model so in principle, you shouldn't be having any issues if all that is happening in the project...otherwise, if you are trying to use a nested void to cut within the family environment, try a face based generic model void instead.
...Should you upload the subject families, will be glad to have a look at it/them

A little confused by what you wrote
. Your saying you have a Generic Model that your loading into a Family to cut a Wall. Did you mean you have made a Generic Model Family as a Void, and loaded it into a Project to cut 2 walls?
When placing a family, especially one with voids or openings that cuts its host, it will typically only cut the one it is placed on. If you have 2 walls side by side, I believe it will only cut one of them. if you make a Model in Place as a Void it can cut both by using the Cut tool.

Not true... a non-hosted void in a generic model can cut more than one element
Edit...There see
This should save you the trouble of double checking

I created a face based void to test, but I get the same message. And the panel on the right still has no problem cutting, only the panel on the left. Attached is the 2 subject void families (one face based called with "test" added to the tittle)
In the face based void...the void need to cut the host. See GIF below
When you load into the model or a family:
You can implement the same concept using a Void in a Window or Door family

Thank you for you fast and clear responses. Following @RDAOU's video exactly, I still got the same message which lead me to assuming it must be an issue with the walls being cut. Turns out, the wall on the left had the phase created set to none, vs the wall on the right which was set to new construction. Having changed this I can now cut the wall with no problem.
