Generic model: Attic steel sheets full parametrical

Hi all

I want to prepare a full paramentrical family for Attic steel sheets. I am trying to use reference plane with no success.

Any idea?

Use Adaptive Family Template and Reference Points.

Interesting. I have never used such family.

May you please roughly discribe with a short screen cast how to use adaptive points for my purpose?

P.s. Is is possible to parametrize somehow the lenght of the family?

I can’t do a Screencast for you, but I put this family together for your perusal. It’s the framework on which to build your geometry. Play with it and see if you can figure it out. It’s fully parametric. Use the Parameters Grouped under “Dimensions” to flex family.

It’s all about hosting Reference Points to Work Plane of other Reference Points – which are in turn, hosted to Work planes of other Reference Points, so on and so forth, so that all the Reference Points are Driven by a Host.

Move the Adaptive Point around and see how all the other Reference Points follow along, maintaining their relationships to one another. Select a Reference Point check out its Properties. Note its “Name” and the “Work Plane” it is hosted to -- which is the subsequent Reference Point in the “domino chain”.

Hope it helps.

P.S. If you break it, you own it.
