I am trying to create a demolition tag, from a generic tag that I would like to show up on a noteblock.
I have done it but my problem is, I want the number in the tag to always be associated with the same description that I have when using that number.
How would I go about doing that? what is happening is, if I create a duplicate tag a new number and/or description creates.
thanks in advance.
The video on this page in the Online Help might get you pointed in the right direction of what you are trying to do. it shows using a note block for something similar to what you are describing.

Any luck figuring out how to do this?
I wanted to do the same thing for a renovation project; ended up using User Keynotes instead, which worked fine, but would have loved it if the Note Block annotation had the option to work the way you're describing!
Do you mean a Generic Annotation, because a Generic Tag is for tagging Generic models?
I have used a Generic Annotation with label for Number and a parameter for Description, both are Text instance parameters, and it works fine. For example, I place one and enter number = 101, description = ABC, if I copy or create similar, the new one inherits the same information. Did you get a new number and/or description if you did the same?
Anyhow, I've been moving to use Keynotes because I prefer a central database, consistency, and the ability to show only the relevant keynotes (per sheet) on schedule.
