Generic Adaptive Family, variable amount of points upon creation?

I just discovered Generic Adaptive Families. It's awesome in its ways.

The workflow I am wondering about is when creating Point Elements + Spline Through Points. I can then beforehand think of how many points are suitable for the thing I want to do.

My question is if there is a way to create a family that can have a variable amount of points, ie make this family do things whether I click two times or five times.

What you are suggesting sounds like you are thinking of something similar to a Parametric Array of adaptive points.

The simple answer is No you cannot.. You have to predefined the number of points and model the adaptive component based on those points. Ie: if you are doing 4pts adaptive panels and at the end of the grid you need to patch the gaps with 3pts or 5 pts, you will need to model 2 separate families with 2pts and 5 pts

Alternatively you can use the sister family of Generic Adaptive ... which is the Generic Pattern Based. (this family is a form of an adaptive components which exclusively adapts to patterns on divided surface and can patch itself to a certain extent)
