well...best and quickest solution was to create individual floor slabsScreenshot 2021-05-13 slope revised.png

Personally, I'd use detail lines to show the slab layout. The reason being that you'll need to use a temporary grid system to create new slab points in exactly the right spot so that all the lines are straight.

My method, if I absolutely had to model the slab would be to create detail lines in plan view that represented the lines I want shown on the slab. Then mofidy the sub elements and add points at each intersection of lines that does not already have one. Then modify the height of each point as required.

You need to use a grid system as the new floor points will snap to it (the align tool doesn't work in the edit mode). If they aren't aligned perfectly then the lines showing the slope will not appear straight.

If you have sketched your entire slab (ie: you included any shafts and floor openings as part of the Floor Boundaries) that Sub-Element tool could with lots of effort work but only to a certain extent.

If you expect or want that tool to function properly you need to make sure the following conditions are fulfilled:

  1. Shafts & openings are modeled as they should be modeled (openings/inserts) and not as part of the Floor Sketch. You can do this by using either of the following tools/methods:
    • Using the Opening tools on the Ribbon (use Shaft or Vertical Opening)
    • Using a Void Element (Can be model in Place but ideally should be modeled in a Face or Floor based generic model)
  2. (The sub elements) You need to use Split lines before you start adding your points

The outcome will be exactly what you are expecting ... See youtube below

@RDAOU

i modeled each bay slab and dropped the center down.  if there is an opening, i used the vertical openings command.
