Hi all,
I have received Floor Plans in Dwg and next stage (Building Permit) will be done fully with BIM tech.
My question is, according your experience, what is the best solution regarding Forniture? I personally have some ideas.
1.Create a dwg (per ech floor) with the only forniture and link it in Revit.
2.Create a Lodable family (Forniture) one per each floor (3D lines onnly)
3.Create Lodable forniture family per each element (E.g Sofa+Table or Table+Chairs and so on)
How would you proceed?
I typically place Furniture families in my models.
it provides better coordination with the engineers.
physical space and location helps with lighting plans diffuser locations etc.
also the scheduling aspect if you are actually doing interior design from the model, or working with a sub contractor.
I tend to not link or insert AutoCAD dwg as a solution into my models.
it creates more procedures to update and refresh.
I would placed in Revit furniture family. Never create model lines in Revit because it can lead to your model slow down. If you have over 1000+ lines and those are just to represent furniture much like CAD, you will see your Revit constantly spin every few seconds.
Use Families. Unless they are custom furniture (which I doubt based on your questions), there are plenty of resources from manufacturers such as Herman Miller, Knoll, on BIMObjects and other online portals.

Understood.
My idea was to place those lines in a loadable family (e.g. Forniture System_First Floor).
