FORMULA FOR VISIBILITY BASED ON IF/THEN STATEMENT

I have a detail item line based family and it has a nested symbol family which i would like to show or not show based on the distance of the line. i thought i understood the formula procedure but i keep getting an error.

Example: you want to show the nested family when the distance of the line is more than 3'

- Distance of the line parameter: Length

- Nested family visibility parameter: Visible

- Formula for Visible:  Length > 3'

Expanding on @ToanDN

Select entity to have visibility settings tied to the Length parameter (a circle in this case).

Create and associate family parameter to entity:

(The example shows an instance parameter named "Circle". This can be whatever suits the needs of the family.)

Complete the association by selecting the newly created parameter and selecting "OK".

Define parameter formula in Family Types.

After loading into a project, this is what you would have if "Length" is less than 3':

If "Length" is greater than 3' the circle will display:

so i followed the steps you provided and made sure that my menus matched your screen shots and when i placed the family in a project the middle arrow shows up even when the family is less than the desired length specified. attached is the family. i must have missed a step
