Folder for Sections in Project Browser

Hi,

is there a way to make folders for "Sections" in project browser?

I have 80 Sections so far and probably twice more till I finish! Scrolling is a mess!

Regards!

One of the ways to solve this:

You can 'group' them by making a new type of building section. Just go to the section view, edit type and duplicate the existing type. This way, you can group them accordingly by changing the types of existing sections and new ones.

Kind regards.

Aside from using different view types, you can add a parameter assigned to views category to add info for views. Then use the parameter as one of the criteria to group views in browser.

Thank you for your replies!

Is there a way to numerate section views from 1 to x? As I keep creating and deleting unnecessary section views I have "empty" numbers!

Regards!

@ToanDN

How could I do what you describe "add parameter......"...?

Thanks!

You're welcome, at least that's part of your problem fixed now.

So you now have a bunch of sections, all called 'Section 1, Section 3, etc ?

As I understand, you want to batch rename them so they become 'Section 1, Section 2, etc without 'gaps' in the numbering?

As far as I know, Revit does not have a feature built in. However, this has to be possible with Dynamo without any doubt.

Glad I could help.

Maybe it's best that you accept something as a solution. That way, the thread sort of gets 'closed', as there is a solution to your thread.

For your second problem, I'd suggest you take that question to the dynamo forums or open a new thread, as asking a second question in a thread often ends in not getting the right people's attention to that question.

Kind regards!

@ToanDN is talking about Shared Parameters. You should have a Shared Parameter.txt file in your company resources. You can also create your own, but since this is something that will be used very often by everyone, I would make sure to have editing rights to the TXT file to make the necessary modifications.

A Shared Parameter to sort views can be created by Manage>>Project Parameters>>Shared Parameter>>Select.

If the required Shared Parameter does not exist in the TXT, create one. Give it a name that makes sense. This will be a Text Parameter.

Once created, select the Shared Parameter and associate it to Sheets in the Add Project Parameter dialog box.

Then View>>User Interface>>Browser Organization

Create a new organization and sort views by the Shared Parameter that you have just added to your project. You can follow the same steps to create another parameter to sort sheets.

For organization-wide use - carry out this process on the organization's project template.
