hello,
i've made a floor with structure assembly layers and i try to join it to the building's Ext wall.
there is a window that disables the connection (the window is sill height 0, if i change it to something else the wall-floor join becomes ok, but i need it to be set to 0).
what can i do to make the wall and floor join as the blue marks indicate?
i've tried attaching wall's bottom to floor and also join geometry, but nothing seems to work.
Are you saying the you want to drop the base of the wall to meet the core layer of the floor?
In Wall Edit, Structure, in Section, you can unlock a year and extend it to suit the construction.. do you thing this will help you in this situation?
You can split the floor at the window area and model a separate floor without the finish layer underneath the window. Then join the floors and attach the wall base to the main floor (see pic). With that said, model a structural floor and a finish floor separately maybe a better option after wall.
well that could work, but it's not the solution im looking after.
i have a big and complicated building and it will be lot of work to split every floor perimeter for the walls ( i have many windows which are the same as the one i showed).
Easier way would be to add that missing piece in Window family itself..
may be parametric ..with size and material parameter..

Well then -- drop your level on which you build the floor -- and/or -- raise the floor core to be flush with the level. That's how it's done. Ain't more difficult than that.
@Corsten.Au what the **** are you talking about????? they are discussing on how to join floor and wall. ![]()
Just let me know one thing.. are you facing problem in joining Floor and External wall only
in the situation where there is a WINDOW??
my apology my bad. thanks

You know; sometimes I think both you and @Corsten.Au are crazy -- until I realize you're right.
Live and learn.

Maybe offset the bottom of the Cut Opening in the window family a tiny bit up.

It seems to me that the issue you are having is brought about by that window you have placed at floor level. If you can't model it, then it stands to reason you can't build it. The rough-in for the window obviously needs to be higher than the floor, whether or not it's Platform Framed or Balloon Framed. So raise the window. That's the solution. Simple. The wall and floor are joining correctly for platform framed construction.
FWIW...
