Flip Control Location in Revit

For context purposes, I'm not quite sure where this family originated from. I believe it originally came from the out of the box library then it was modified (because I can't delete the flip controls). Regardless, I'm interested in figuring out an explanation for the behavior of the flip controls in this specific Overhead Rolling Door family. I can't figure out what is causing this to happen.

Within the family, the flips are seemingly ordinary, near the origin. However, once the family is loaded into a project, if selected, instead of being right on top of the family in plan, the flip controls instead are significantly offset. You will also notice this very blatantly by doing a zoom extents within your view. That super offset part of the family (where the grips are) is also not selectable with a right-selection window (ie there isn't anything suspicious outside the visible family components that is hidden but also selectable).

I've attached the family and a little snippet of the behavior in plan view. Thanks for taking a look!

Do you have a Ref. Plane "way out there" in the family?  Delete it or change its status to Not a Reference.

Unless the reference plane is hidden and I can't see it in any view within the family itself (even though they are checked-on within the V/G settings), there isn't something like that going on. You can see for yourself in the family. Also, I think if it was a non-weak reference plane I could snap to it with a modify tool like align or move, which doesn't seem to be the case either.

Toan,

Yes, that family works as it should. Did you modify the one I uploaded? If so, what did you do to fix it?

My interest in this issue lies within understanding that strange flip control behavior and/or how to fix it. The family will probably be deleted from our library considering there's a perfectly normal functioning one in the out of the box Revit library.

Yes. That is your family. I just edited it, pinned the center left/right reference plane, changed to a new type and accepted the constraint warning, and saved it.

Toan!

Unreal, simply pinning both the 'origin' reference planes fixed the issue. Not sure why they were unpinned at some point.

Thanks so much. Now I can sleep tonight 🙂
