I want to create a linear array of Studs with fixed spacing. The array count varies based on the span/length.
Having that established, I am unable to have the Stud length (array's width) parametric.
Could someone help me with this issue?
Thanks!
Don't create the nested stud component using a structural framing family template. Create it as a generic models family (not line based), then change the category to structural framing.
You start from Generic family template then change it to Structural Framing category. You can still tag and schedule them in project as Structural Framing.
You can also keep the stud family as is and use Beam System in project to populate the studs. It is far more robust than using an array family.
You can google shared nested structural framing family issues and read what they are.
Got a tip for you: Curtain Walls.
Studs=Mullions
Spacing=Empty System Panels

Thanks for your effort in reiterating this family.
But, this seems to be 'move to last item' array method rather than '2nd item' with spacing specific approach.
I wish to have them spaced at a particular distance, wouldn't that be possible in this case?
Here is with them spaced at a particular distance. With that said, I would use structural beam system (not sure why you said it was not feasible), or curtain wall instead of a family.
