Flat roof, variable layer not working

This is a really odd shaped flat roof.  The main structure is going to be TJI joists and I am using 2x6 on top to create the 1/4":12" slope.  I want the program to cut that layer to keep the slope on top and the bottom flat.

@13lemartinez

Are you using a floor element? it  works fine here....if you are, the next questions would be

  1. How odd are the sub-elements?
  2. Are you sure you are assigning the proper layer as variable?

Have you check on this variable

All you need to do is add a point and you should be able to achieve your slope and the bottom will be flat

You may want allow for more thickness for the TJI. If you have slope more than 5.5" depth, your roof won't accept those value. I would look at 5.5" + (slope variable).

Is this a flat roof with modified subelements or a roof with slope definitions?  If you want the bottom to be flat, it must be the former.

So it is not a flat roof.  A flat roof means no defined slopes, no slope arrows whatsoever.  Remove the defined slopes and modified sub-elements then it will work.
