Finish the product after 24 years

I've made a couple posts here in the last few days and have an idea that would be really great to see: Finally release the full version of Revit.

Like, this can't be it, right? Out of the box it's essentially worthless while costing $3,695CAD/yr. And sure there's LT if you want to spend less but seeing them side by side you may as well just burn the money.

1. Detailing? It's like AutoCAD if 90% of the snaps were turned off and most of the tools are missing.

2. Labels? Incredibly rigid and you'll have to make a whole other type just to justify it differently.

3. Graphic wall/floor/roof schedules? No. Also each user has to build them from scratch using work-arounds because asking for a default "Type mark/materials" table is too much effort? I just want it to show the wall type mark, a small plan section(like it already can in the type editor), and list the materials from outside to inside.

4. Gravel hatch? Nope, make it yourself. I mean, who needs granular fill anyway?

5. Can we PLEASE let models save back at least a couple years? The program simply does not change that much year to year but if one firm has 2022 and the other 2023 it's a whole process to make those *hopefully* work in both directions. I hear ArchiCAD can do it, so why not Revit?

6. I tried to mitre two C-channels together but even though they're beams it looks like only W-sections can make use of that tool. So instead I'm drawing reference planes and cutting things.

7. We can snap gridlines for a nice consistent vertical height across drawings but levels are just loose and free? It's like the function is only half-finished.

8. How many times do I need to find a crazy work-around because Revit thinks that it's much smarter than it is and it outright blocks me from doing stuff it thinks is impossible? "Oh you want a connection plate for your angled X-bracing to be welded onto a steel pile? Sorry, even though that happens all the time I don't know about it so I'm just going to have to say no. Please spend hours making a janky fix or maybe you could ask the engineer to completely change the design to fit with my limitations?"

9. So, so, so, so much more.

Please, please, please just forget about making any new features, contact a wide variety of people who actually use the product (and actually listen to them), and just finish all these placeholder-quality features. The forums are *full* of people asking questions with the only answers being "nope, that's just not a thing".

So there's my idea, get it together. This is shameful.

Revit is the reason God created beer.

Drink more beer.  :zwinkerndes_Gesicht:
