Finish Schedule not loading finishes from drawing

I am working on Revit 2019 on a workshared model through BIM360.  The model was provided to us (the interior designer) and I am adding in finishes and eventually furniture.  I have added the flooring (and loaded the material info) but it is not populating into the finish schedule.  The finish schedule also isn't letting me manually type in the finishes.  I'm thinking maybe this is because I haven't loaded the finish info into the rooms.  However, I am unable to do that as I cannot select the rooms.  There are room names and numbers in the drawing already but they were not created by us, is this why I am unable to select the rooms?

If you want to report the model material/finish of the floors then you need to create a floor schedule, or a material take-off schedule looking at Floors category? It sounds like you are using a Room Schedule. Rooms do not read materials from the model, they (Floor/Base/Wall/Ceiling Finishes) are just text parameters to be entered manually for the rooms.

I am using the "room finish schedule" option.  However, the template was already created.  I need more than a floor schedule because the floors, base, and walls need to be on the same schedule.  I watched a couple of videos and it looks like the room finish schedule is the one I need to be using, but I am unable to even manually type in the information.  I stumbled upon a video where the information for the schedule was input under the room parameters where there is a spot for each finish including the floor.  But because I am unable to select the rooms I am not able to do it this way.

Are the rooms in the linked model or in your own model?

It sounds to me like you are wanting to assign values to each Room’s “Base Finish”, “Ceiling Finish”, “Wall Finish” and ”Floor Finish” field shown in the Room Schedule. If those Parameter fields are automatically populated by a Key Schedule, you will be unable to edit the values directly through the Room Schedule. You need to edit the Key Schedule directly.

Are the Room Schedule's “Finish” values populated by a Key Schedule/Parameter?

You cannot edit information of elements in the linked model. You either do it in that model, or recreate the rooms innyour model, or use Space tool to create spaces from the linked rooms, then add the information to the spaces.

Linked???  Linked into what?   Open the Link directly and assign finishes to schemes in Key Schedule or assign finishes directly inside the Room Schedule.
