I unlocked a layer with a brick finish. When I drag that layer down, the brick layer appears correctly (green arrow below) but the substrate layer underneath the brick takes on the brick appearance (red arrow) even though its material is set to gypsum wallboard. Have I got the settings wrong?

You know, I saw a post about this recently. It was the first time I became aware of it. I have never had this issue in past, but I was able to reproduce it in 2024, 2023 and 2022. Strange. I'm sure we've modeled Wall Types with unlocked layer base/top extensions in past Projects without this issue. Scratching my head here.
I would suggest submitting this to Autodesk by opening a support case on it through your autodesk.manage.com account. Let us know what they say.
