Filters, material take-off and 3D views

Hi all, does anyone know if i can combine a filter to a 3D view by material takeoff?

My revit materials have some parameters, and i am able to filter by those parameters in schedules ( material take-off schedules) BUT i would like to be able to filter in a 3D view by the same material parameters ( basically to have a 3D view where i can show only specific materials). Is this even possible in Revit?

Check this option in filters, in table settings.

So when you place the 3D view on a sheet, it will only calculate the quantities of that 3D view.Captura de tela 2024-01-23 095445.png

There might be a way to write a Rule-Based Filter. For instance, you could add a Rule-Based Filter to the 3D View that would hide all the Walls that do not have a particular Structural Material. You could filter by a Project Parameter assigned to Categories, but you would need to input the values manually.  Parts might get you there as well.  Part's Material is a rule you can filter by in a Rule-Based Filter.

Provide some more information about these Material Parameters you are talking about.

Hi, i do not have that option in my schedule, could it be because it s a Material take off schedule?

the thing is i have all my parameters that i would like to filter by, but they are all connected to the actual revit material, not element categories.  In my 3D view i can see all the categories, but there s no option in filters for 3D view to filter by materials and other parameters. That is why i wondering how i could connect the 2 ( schedule with Material take off and  a 3d  view)

If I understand correctly then Filter by sheet is the reverse of what you want.  It is to filter a schedule based on the visibility of a view, but not filter what to be shown in a view.

Still don't have enough information from you about the specific criteria.  Like I said, it may be possible. All depends on the specific criteria.
