filtering new vs existing

Working on a project that the client is adding a space within a shell building and I need to show the shell walls as existing all within the same .rvt file.  I was able to filter all non-shell walls (corridors, etc.) to show as half tone.  Is there a way to filter the same walls to as existing within the view template?

thanks.

Howard

Switch them over to Existing phase. Set the phase filter in your view template to Show Previous Phase.

Other method - in your view template create a filter to filter out certain wall types.

the walls for the space are on its own workset "Space" and i have a filter that any wall that is not in the "Space" workset to be shaded.  but since the plan is at 1/4" scale, the non-space walls still show the inner lines of a new wall.

Is there any reason you don't use Revit's Phasing?

forgot about phasing and what can be done.  I kept the New Construction phase and added Space Phase, applied the Space Phase to all new objects.  then in the view, kept Phase Filter to Shall All and changed the Phase to Space Phase.

thank you Rina and ToanDN.  both helped.
