Filled Region Covers Cut Pattern in Section

Hi Everyone,

I'm having problem with the filled region as it covers the cut hatch in section views, even though masking has been unchecked. There's no such issue when applying the same filled region to a plan view.

Does anyone have the same issue or have solution for it? Thanks you.

Did you check off show masking? EDIT: ignore the first question. Also did you set the drawing to hidden lines instead of wireframe?

Check and see if the wall, roof or floor has transparency

Hi @syman2000 ,

I tried the same setting as yours and it still doesn't work on my end.. also the wall does not have transparency.

Do you have an override applied in the view?

Hi @barthbradley , there's no override applied in the view.

Essentially it's a similar issue as the other post but in section view. I'm also using the latest Revit 2024.2

Non-Masking Solid Fill Region covers wall color in Revit plan view (autodesk.com)

So applying transparency to the Solid Fill Region by overriding the region by Element or Category isn't working?

Interesting. I was using 2022 and this wasn't an issue. Hopefully Autodesk have a solution because this is a bummer if the solid fill isn't working as intended.

I have no issues. That's why I'm thinking there is another override acting on the view - especially since Override Graphics in View ain't having an effect on the Region.

Maybe a Phase Filter?

override the region and apply transparency could work (similar to the workaround from the other post). the color will not be the same as intended though and the wall/floor cut pattern that is covered by the filled region will look different from the rest as well.:Gesicht_ohne_Mund:

That would be easy enough to correct for. Override the Foreground Pattern Color to the original color and then move the slider to bump it up.  No?

This could be a possible solution but will become time-consuming when we need to work on many filled region across multiple section views..

In ideal world Revit can fix this issue and we can simply use a correct color without covering the other cut pattern.

We just tested on different computer that uses Revit 2024, and it seems that it's a common problem for Revit 2024.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you.  Here's my result when I place a Filled Region over a Wall Section:

Yah, transparency.

You don't like to hear this but Revit 2024 filled regions cover solid pattern of model elements, but not other patterns.  You either make the filled region transparent as suggested, or use non-solid pattern for model elements.

I think this is more of a bug for Revit 2024 because the filled region covers the solid hatch in section, but no in plan..! If this is a feature (hopefully not), at least there should be a consistency.

Fill region covering the solid floor hatch in SECTION:

The same filled region applied in plan. It works as it should.
