Fill Pattern with Color

Is it possible to have a fill pattern that has a background color? For example, I am looking for a way to have a Concrete pattern that has a grey color for for structural walls. Filled Regions just take up too much time.

Material colors and patterns are established in the Material Browser (accessed on the Manage ribbon tab). Once you open the Material Browser, look on the Graphics tab, there you will find that every material may be assigned a Shading Color, a Surface Pattern and a Cut Pattern.

In order for the Shading Color of materials to display in a view, that view needs to have its Visual Style set to either the Shaded or the Consistent Colors option.

I am looking for if there is a way to assign two cut patterns: a concrete pattern and a transparent solid fill, or create a .pat file that has a concrete pattern with the possibility of assigning a background color where the lines of the pattern remain black.

I know this is possible in AUTOCAD

Only one cut pattern per material, but you can set the color of that cut pattern to be black if you like. The Shading Color takes care of the background grey, but only if your view style is set to Shaded or Consistent Colors.
