Manage>>Additional Settings>>Fill Patterns
That is where you will be able to delete unwanted fill patterns.
Click on the button with the three dots. It will take you to a dialog box where you can delete all the patterns you want.
Thanks for replying, but what I want to know is because I appear in the repeating pattern list for example in the image you see around 10 solid fill, and many steel.
and there is no way to find them to remove them since in advanced options only one of each appears to me.
That's strange. Can you share a file that shows this behavior?
Hello @jamess166,
I think if you could have this kind of add-ins you clean it up.
Sorry, But I couldn't run the Revit Cleanup right now, coz' I don't have license Revit 2018 as of the moment to test it personally, I'm only using a Revit 2018 viewer.
I think this was caused by an add-in. Anyway I've found a solution.
Download the free add-in Hatchkit https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=3030278704485778018&appLang=en&os=Win64
When openinn the add-in you'll see all the duplicates and where they're used.
Go to the materials, e.g. the concretes, and remove the cut patterns (no pattern). When opening the add-in the second time, you'll see the patterns are no longer in use and are white (as opposed to light blue when in use).
Select the concrete patterns, all but one, and click delete. Reassign the pattern to the materials.
Repeat for the other patterns.
@Anonymous - can you share more details about this add-on? I think that we could use this!
Thanks, I used the app and managed to delete all the materials where those patterns were found but I do not know how to delete it from this:
Too late! You already did it! Do what @Kimtaurus suggested. See if you have HatchKit in your build. That worked when I tried it on your file.
My thought was confirmed - the duplicates that you see are instances of the hatch being used. When you see shaded patterns in the Hatchkit list, those are used patterns that cannot be deleted and it tells you so.
I actually got to do that, I do not have any items using that type of pattern but I get this message.
The duplicates in the list have nothing to do with them being in use, for instance the concrete pattern was only used in about 15 materials but exists 40 times in the list. The duplication that takes place is most llikeliy due to some add-in being used. given that it's mainly patterns of structural materials being duplicated, my best guess it's caused by an add-in for designing structures.
Normaly the patterns is listed once and in the 5th column it telss you which materials use this pattern. E.g. see image below: "Brick Soldier Course" and "Brickwork" are both used twice, but only appear once.
To get rid of the duplicates, remove the patterns from the materials. You'll see even though they are no longer used, it still lists aal the duplicates of the pattern "Concrete".
Next, delete the duplicates (all but one) with HatchKit and reassign the patterns to the materials. Unfortunatly you cannot delete Solid Fills, so you'll still be stuck with those. As you can see in the botom picture, the pattern is assign to 13 materials, but only shows up once (as it should).
Those are materials as well. The pattern is assigned as a cut pattern (C:)
I managed to eliminate all patterns except for the solid, anyway I have less. Thank you
