Have a Revit central file from Revit 2013. When I try to open it an error message comes up and says "Can't make stair". Then it says "file load cancelled". I have tried opening the central file, detaching from central file, and audit along with both of those options. Nothing seems to work to open this file. In the error window it doesn't let me delete the stair which is causing the problem either. Not sure what else to try to get this file open. There are no backup files since this was a central file - and we don't have the same computers with the local files anymore.

Try to use etransmit. See if it is able to upgrade your file and place it in the newer location.
It is still giving me the same error message when I try to include the Revit upgrade as part of the process. The upgrade from 2013 to 2018 seems to be where the problem lies. When I transmit to another location it works - but when I open it from there the file still has to upgrade and the error happens.
Upload the file and see if users able to open the file.
Here is a dropbox link to the file. Too large of a file to upload here.
