I get the attached error occasionally, this one was the result of applying a phase filter to a view. After install I move the install file to a NAS because they are so big, I don't want them filling up my primary ssd. Worse is that the initial dialog says something about configuring windows, I assume because it's an msi? What is causing this and how can I prevent it from happening? Thanks.
Hi @Anonymous
This is a strange error, I'm happy to try to help you resolve it.
Which version and build of Revit are you using?
Do you know if you used the "Install Now" method of installing? This might cause this problem in certain circumstances.
It just happened again. I am using build:
16.0.1161.0
20160720_0715(x64)
Update6 for R2
I typical download it and install it myself. But I may have used 'install now', depends what i'm doing. I received the following errors in that order until they started to repeat...

I wonder if this has anything to do with ADSK not supporting the use of NAS devices.
Then immediately following these errors, this happens...

I install from the default location on the C drive, then move the gigantic files to my NAS. But in this case, the install files are still on my C drive from last time I installed.
Is there any update on this? Can I provide anything additional to help identify the cause? I am working on an large mess of a project that I didn't start. I wouldn't be surprised if something in the project was causing the issue. Please advise, thanks.
Hi @Anonymous,
This may be due to an addin or update not installed/configured properly.
Have you already tried the steps here?
