Fascia/roof learning

Would anyone know of any tutorials to help me learn more about fascias ir residential building.

First thing is that I always have to reduce my roof thickness to show a 1x6 rake on a gable overhang?

Another is that I am not quite sure how to use two different size fascia's in the same project. Seems Duplicating does not work and they all go to the same size.

Thanks

@glkirk,  are you asking specifically about the Fascia Tool (as in a Rake Board for instance), or about Roof construction?  Can you elaborate?

Create another Type by duplicating and changing Profile.

...but Revit won't do Pork Chops with the Fascia Tool, if that is what you are asking. Use the In-Place Component modeling tool for those.

Thanks Barth,

Was hoping someone might know of a utube tutorial where I could get more knowledge of the exterior cornice/fascia tools.

I did figure that I can change the fascia size and make it stick.

I guess its just another facet of Revit that needs to be worked dozens and dozens of times before a person really gets the hang of it. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

What category would I use to make an in place component in making pork chops?

Thanks!

Not much to it. So easy, a caveman could do it.  :zwinkerndes_Gesicht:   Just a couple of extrusions make up one Pork Chop return. Model one as In-Place Component, then make Mirror Copies of it for the other returns.  Soffit and Fascia make up the rest of the construct.

Regarding category; Roof or Generic Model maybe.  Depends on how and what you want to Schedule of it.
