Family Void cutting Concept

I have a Ceiling Family which is Inplace Family type. I want to provide cut-out opening for Light Fixture over the ceiling. I used In-place Ceiling Category and tried to provide Void over the ceiling But I couldnt Pick Plane surface since its curved Ceiling. So I picked nearby flat surface as plane and tried to cut Its not working. But If I place Solid Extrusion Instead of Void Extrusion, If I change to solid Extrusion to Not in Scope Workset While its hidden the ceiling Cut was made. Is this proper way ? Or is it bug in this Revit 2022 ? Actually the solid extrusion is passing through the ceiling shouldnt show the Cut while hiding . But its showing Cut while its hidden ! I need Clarification for this

Use Mass in place instead of Void, then Join your mass with Ceiling.

The void wont cut if they are in two separate in place families. The void needs to be in the same in place family instance as the ceiling. ie:

  • start the In Place family
  • create the sweep for the ceiling,
  • create the void extrusion and cut the the above sweep
  • Finish the In Place family
