So I've attached the files, but for the life of me I can't figure out why this isn't working. I've done several families with Type Catalogs in them I never had the error I'm getting now. What makes it even more weird is that is claims there is a character that isn't there. so I'm hoping by reaching out to the forum I can get this solved.
This family is a pretty straight forward detail family, it is meant to be just a stud in profile view, so that I can quickly add this kind of framing to my detail drawings. I figured I'd take a little time and populate up a Type catalog with the different gauges and sizes. But when I go to load it into my Revit Project I get the error shown in the picture file Error.png.
I've attached the following files for others to review, maybe we can get this solved, and others might find my little family helpful.

1. Open Family
2. Rename (for now)
3. Export=>Family Types. By default, the prompted TXT File Name and Save to Location should be the same as the RFA File Name/Location. If correct click on "Save".
4. Open the newly created TXT File. Don't change Header.
5. Open the original TXT File
6. Copy and Paste all the Family Types from the original TXT File to the newly created TXT File.
7. Load renamed Family into Project via Insert=>Load Family. The Specify Types dialog box should pop up without errors.
Thank you for responding. I tried your suggestion, and I still got the same error message when bringing the family into the project. I'd love to get this resolved, because it would really help me quickly detail my drawings.
There must be something else going on, because both suggestions you were given should work. Did you download and try the files I attached?
Sorry, I for want ever reason didn't see your response. Yes I just downloaded and tried your modified files, and the worked. Woot for having a stud profile family to populate my details with. Just so you know, this family now included ever standard stud size list are Clark Dietrich's website.
