Family that attaches to roof

I created a family under component and wanted to know if there is any parameter I can create that allows me to attach it to the roof?

You can align the sketch linework of the geometry to the Roof in In-Place edit mode, but you can't attach it after the fact.

Edit the family, tick the box Work Plane, untick the box Always vertical.  In project, you can pick any surface to place the family.

when you say "attach it to the roof", do you mean attach the component to the roof using the "Attach Top/Base" tool, or do you mean host it to the roof?   In other words, place the component on top of the roof.  If it's an In-Place Component, which is how I read you (because you said you created a "family under component"), you should have first picked and made current a Work Plane to sketch your component on. In this case, you would have picked the Roof Face as the Work Plane.
