Hi friends
I am afraid it is a kinda silly question; but i do not know this ![]()
When I model a family myself; I know which family template is used.
But when I download a family from Seek or Revit City, I cant make which family template is used to model that family.
What is the way to find which family template is used to model a family ?

You often do not know for sure. Looking at the family you can know/deduce which template has been used in many cases. For example face based family can only be made from a single template. Some families can be made from a dedicated template (e.g parking) or made from generic template and setting the parking family category. Some families have special tools which indicates which template is used (e.g. structural trusses).
The best clue is the the family category of the family which indicates a single or a few possible templates

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
I wonder why Revit does not have this simple capability.
I guess because it not relevant/interesting (to most people)? What I mean is why would you like to know which template has been used?
In my years working with Revit it is something I have never looked for.
If you think this is a useful function to have, you can create an entry in Revit Ideas.
