Hi guys.
I had a problem with importing some families (Specialty Equipment) into project.
This error appear. I already remove the parameter mentioned, and try load back to the project, but still the error come up..
any idea? any solution?
tq
post your family so we can check. thanks
i don't find any issues? thanks
@ennujozlagam eh why you can load? haha.. is it you are using 2016 revit, and i use 2018, the issue on the revit 2018 version?
try to save your family Revit 2018 and try to load again?thanks
i dont find any issues in Revit 2018. try to install latest updates from autodesk and see if helps. thanks
revit 2018.
Hi,
The message indicates that there's a shared parameter in the project (or another family already in project) AND in the family with thesame GUID but with different datatype. Weight = Number AND Mass for identical GUID's
Looks like a manual edit of a Shared parameter file is used....!
Solution (I don't know which is the original?), delete the Weight parameter and create a new Weight parameter from the Revit UI. It can have the same name, but wouldn't advise it!
Either in the Family or in the project/other families....
We don't get the message because the other (Weight as number with identical GUID) doesn't exist in our project.

@ennujozlagam the issue is ssolved now. I got the idea when see your videos. There is no issue if the family is load into new architecture project. It happen when i load to my project template. Now i have to find a way to remove the 'Weight' parameter in my project template. Thank you.
@TripleM-Dev.net yeah. The parameter clash with my project template. Do you know how to remove the parameter in the project instead of in the family? if i remove the parameter in the family, and load back to project, the error still happen.
Edit the Parameter in the Family and change it from Shared Parameter to Family Parameter. If you need it to report in Schedules, then create a new Shared Parameter named "Specialty Equipment Weight" or whatever. Just not "Weight".
Hi,
If the conflicing parameter "Weight" is not defined as Project parameter then it's in a existing family in the template.
It could be a not-placed family....
Create a new Project from the Project template, purge x-times until nothing further can be purged.
Now try loading the other family, if no message appears now, the parameter is in one of the purged families.
Other option is as @barthbradley mentions to change the parameter in the family with a new Parameter (I think you can replace te exiting parameter in the Family by another one, so no need to delete it first....)

@amirCKP wrote:@barthbradley i tried you suggestion but the error still happen.
I don't see how that's possible. Are you saying you are getting the exact same error message about conflicting Shared Parameters?
