Family not updating after reloading

I have created a detail line component family, The family is just a line (DPC) that I'll be able to tag, I created my own  line type and changed the thickness. After loading the line into my project, the line seemed too thick so I edited the family to make it thinner, the issue is after changing the thickness, it doesn't make the update once I load it back into the project. I've even deleted the family completely and loaded it again into the project but thickness of the line is still the same as when I first created the family, I don't know why the family is not changing even though I've edited it and made the changes in the family editer. The family is just a dashed line by the way.

Sounds like a view scale issue. Know what I mean? Smiley (zwinkernd)

I doubt its a view scale issue because its not just the thickness of the line that I've changed I've actually changed the line type from normal dashed to Long dashed line, and you actually see the change in the family editer, but once I reload it back into the project, both the line type and the thickness remains the same

Is the Line Type defined differently in the Project?

Its a line but i created it as a family so that i can tag it so its not an ordinary line, its not going show up under the line types

I've found it, so yes it was in the object styles and the line pattern was actually blank and there was no line type assigned to it. I see that I can also change the thickness in there as well. I normally don't ever edit anything in the project object styles so I didn't even think about checking there. I was going crazy trying to figure this out. Thanks a lot its solved now
