family libraries not showing

When I try to load families from a library, I can't see the Libraries.

Before I upgraded to Revit LT 2021,

they used to be in the grey column to the left in the screenshot.

I wondered if they hadn't load properly, so I did it again without success

Thankyou in advance

Peter

Rob - Software isn't a "Maybe it will work if you do this or that" these days.  When you're running big jobs that are time sensitive this lack of communication is unacceptable.  This software (especially bundled)  is EXPENSIVE and we expect that it will work.   We are all able to deal with changes but when you bundle them into a .1 update without saying anything to anybody it trickles down very quickly.  And by the way ROB Revit isn't a Drafting Software - We expect more out of @Anonymous

Sorry but you've got me confused with someone who cares about your opinion. The complaint department is down the hall.

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hello, jcortelyou;  perhaps you know if there a British English version of Revit LT software that could run the British English Family Libraries that weren't loading for me when I started this thread?

thankyou;  Peter

btw;  it seems to me that there must be, as otherwise, why provide different Language Libraries, but I can't find it and Lance Coffey of AutoDesk Support hasn't replied on the issue.

Thankyou, ennujozlagam,

But if you see above, that's where I started.

English - United Kingdom Libraries don't work with Revit LT 2021 English -
American core software, so I have had to install the English-American
versions throughout, where is seems to me that not as many Families are
available as used to be in Revit LT 2018, where both American and UK English
Library versions worked at the same time, interchangeably.

Perhaps you could provide a Link to English-UK Revit LT 2021 core software ?

Thankyou and regards

Peter

Hello @peterdew, thank you for the update and clarification regarding the language issues you are seeing.

Using the information from the link that I sent previously about using Revit in other languages, you should be able to specify English - United States or English - United Kingdom for the language. More information on this topic is in this help topic (linked from the one above): About Languages for Revit

However, this will affect the Revit interface, and not the families: What changes when Revit uses ENG language versus ENU?

The family library downloads are self extracting zip files containing RFA files in various directories.

If these are not extracting successfully (as indicated in previous screenshots), then this would a problem with the download or your system (not Revit).

Since reinstalling Revit, have you tried downloading/extracting the additional content?

Note: To avoid overwriting existing content (which is working), I would suggest changing the default directory the files extract to (this is an option when you open the library EXE).

Thankyou, Lance;

But would you please clarify my first issue before I go to the trouble of doing all that.

Can Revit LT 2021 still show and use both USA and UK English Libraries as used to be possible in 2018, or is it restricted to one or the other depending on which English language is selected for the core software ?

Regards

Peter

PS     I posted this last week after following Reply in your email, but I received a warning that it hadn't been delivered after a day or two, and subsequently notice that it had been deleted.

@peterdew  Thank you for the update.

The library is a collection of Family files (RFA). I would expect that you could open any of these family files while using any language version of Revit. The difference is that the Parameters will be named using the language it was designed for. However, with UK / US content, they would both be in English.
