Good afternoon. I am developing a design where I have my main Building, a big structure + 10-3 story dwelling blocks containing 3 homes each: All of them are the same. I need to have the same prototype copied 10 times, keeping the chance to modify them without having error messages like the "Group has been renamed" or "the group has excluded this or that" or "the group cannot copy this or that" "Fix group - ungroup"... OR having restrictions of placing a wall or a floor or any kind of fixture in a family... OR having visual issues on a linked model or not having in the schedules fixtures coming from linked models....
Should I create a Family?: what kind of template should I use? or a Group? or a linked model? or any other option?
any suggestions please?
Thanks

Well, considering all those caveats, I think the answer is clear....pull out the hand-drafting tools and start drawing.
My suggestion would be to have a main model into which you will link the buildings. Create a separate model that contains the 3 storey building. Link this into the main project and copy as required. Then any adjustments made will update all of the buildings.
Note that you can still control the graphics of each individual building in the views. You can also schedule elements from the linked files in the main project.
Using groups for this will have the problems that you have mentioned.
Thank you
