All of the sudden this morning I am getting the most bizarre behavior. I first noticed in a modeled in place casework placeholder that I simply wanted to copy. I got "Can't make extrusion" and the copied and original disappeared. The I tried to mirror it, "A serious error has occurred,.. yadda yadda.) I then tried to create similar on a double hung window and got "Can't make window type..." Some types work, some don't. Oddly, the standard that came with Revit tend not to work.
Seems to be becoming more unstable as the day goes on. I have tried installing patches, restarting, other projects, checked video drivers. Everything else seems to work just fine and this issue appears to be limited to Revit alone. Everything worked fine yesterday. Any thoughts. TIA.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Alternatively:
Copy and paste a healthy DDGraph file from another machine, where the issue is not reproducible.
If the above steps do not help, clear the content of the following folders:
%USERNAME% should be your windows login name.
%VERSION% should be your Revit version.
This is Minjie, the product owner of Revit develop team. Could you send us the corrupted Revit project (simplified version only including the problematic in-place families) for further investigation? My email address: minjie.wang@autodesk.com. Please also let me know if the above steps resolve the crash issue. If not, please try to create a new Windows user profile and see if it helps.

It wasn't a corrupted project it was globally in Revit. The above solution worked.
Thanks to confirm. Could you specify which solution works? Replacing DDGraph file, cleaning up the AppData folders or creating a new windows user profile?

Replacing the DDGraph worked. I can't speak to the others as I did not try them.
If anybody else is experiencing this issue and would be wiling to share the bad DDGraph file (prior to replacing it) with Autodesk that would be a great help to us in preventing this from happening in the first place.

I am not sure which impressed me more, choosing a wrong thread to post your finding, or using your own failure as the benchmark to pass judgment to revit families as handicap.
