Was attempting to upgrade a series of R19 models to R21 and I keep on the error that the files is corrupt and needs to be repaired manually. I believe several models were created off the a model in the group so the same issue has most likely translated to others.
I have tried detaching, purging, deleting cache files, renaming files, the whole shebang. I have tried looking at the journal but I haven't been able to decipher the issue and find the error.
If anybody is looking for a challenge could you please take a look or offer and suggestions.
audit while opening the bim360 model. Saved-as to local. Audit opening model while local. Saved. Open model in R21 with audit and get corrupt model, restore manually.
Same addins. I have even deleted the addin folder in the directory for both R19 and R21 while trying to upgrade.
Do your model have Revit links or CAD links? Perhaps unload them first in 2019 and try upgrade it. Sometimes links can cause the upgrade to failed.
Since you have ruled out/tried the obvious problems/solutions, it might be time to start digging into the families. I saw a AKN page last week describing how to analyze the families. Unfortunately, it's a one by one process.
I have exported all families from the project. The only family errors during that process were regarding objects that needed to have their constrains removed.
Earlier in troubleshooting I didnt find some families that would not export or open to edit, reloading them seemed to correct that issue.
Thought of this as well. Tested a model that was in an early phase that didn't include any links (dwg or revit) and the file got the same error while upgrading.
